Vaslav Nijinsky, one of the most controversial and prodigious figures of the last century, who inspired Loris Petrillo's new piece.
Loris Petrillo's new project for Compagnia Petrillo Danza is a reflection on the most intrinsic meaning of creative madness, the vital and erotic impulse within man that transforms him into "man in God"; the same man who, when the creative act fades and he returns to himself, feels abandoned to his own thoughts, which terrify him, like a fallen angel cast out by the very God whose extraordinary power he felt in the free flow of his genius.
The irreverent flair of genius; the deep melancholy of the fallen angel, aware of the penetrating mystery of the beauty his eyes have beheld; the madness of a man forsaken by his God:
drawing inspiration from the figure of Nijinsky, Loris Petrillo once again offers us his personal reflection on humanity and its inextricable complexity.
